After our very successful appearance at Gov ICT 2.0 last July, Ami and I are heading southwards next week as Be-IT is again exhibiting at another major government event, this time at ‘Transforming Government ICT’ in the Queen Elizabeth Centre (it’s across the road from Westminster Abbey and has stunning views of Big Ben from the stairs – see pic - as well as a rather nice pub just outside, not that we’re going there afterwards).
The agenda for the event explains why it’s important - “A landmark year for Government ICT, 2016 sees unprecedented support for technological innovation as a vital means to reduce inefficiency with £1.8 billion having been committed to IT”. We know some people who are particularly interested in the second item on the morning agenda – “Making Tax Digital: Building one of the most Advanced Tax Systems in the World”, and there is also a Scottish flavour to the afternoon, when Glasgow City Council’s Digital Transformation Manager will be “Assessing the Power of Big Data and Analytics in Glasgow”.
Stand by for a slightly longer report, plus pictures of our new exhibition stand, once we’re back.
