This is the first year Be-IT has sponsored Civil Service Live, which is actually a rolling roadshow, beginning in Glasgow tomorrow (Thursday, June 16th) and then heading to Sheffield, Coventry, Cardiff and London.
The Glasgow event is at the SECC, down by the Clyde, and we’ll be there in our best bibs and tuckers, or at least smartly dressed, ready for what promises to be a really interesting series of sessions and an accompanying exhibition.
One of the great benefits of the day is that the range and number of sessions you can choose to attend is huge: much bigger than you would normally expect at such an event. Whether it’s something as basic as “What is the Government Digital Service – What does it do?” or “The role of HR in the modern Civil Service” or more specific sessions like “How to run a hack-day” or “e-enabling conveyancing in Scotland”, there is definitely something for everyone.
Be-IT is a Crown Commercial Supplier with both G-Cloud v6 and v7 status and as such an increasing percentage of our business is with the public sector work. That said, it’s important to keep abreast of what’s happening and what’s likely to happen (we suspect a certain referendum may get a mention), so we’re very much looking forward to it. A report will follow next week.
