We are delighted to announce that, as of today, Be-IT Resourcing is an accredited Living Wage Employer, having completed the process to join the Scottish Living Wage Accreditation Initiative. We believe this is an important initiative, which demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that all our own staff and indeed, we trust, all our clients’ staff (and our candidates) are paid not just the government’s minimum wage but an amount that reflects the cost of living. Currently, outside London, this is set at £8.25 per hour.
Independent research shows that, for employers, the Living Wage contributes to a significant improvement in many key recruitment and retention metrics, including reductions in absenteeism, enhanced quality of work and an increased consumer awareness of the ethical organisations that subscribe to this worthwhile project.
From the employee’s perspective, the Living Wage Initiative has been shown to help individuals produce higher quality work and to be more willing to implement changes to working practices and then adopt them more quickly. As an example of ‘everybody wins’ it’s hard to beat!
If you’d like more information on the Scottish Living Wage, go to this link, or if you’d like to find out more why Be-IT supports this initiative then please get in touch with me at the number on our contact page.
