It’s a few months since we made an ‘official’ visit to the big smoke, although Ami and Alma have made plenty of other trips south to see our growing client base in the UK capital (and beyond). However, in just over a week – 28th September to be precise – Gareth and I are heading for the next Gov ICT 2.0 conference, in Queen Elizabeth Hall, just over the road from Westminster Abbey. The overall theme of the event is “Transforming Government Through Technology” and it promises to be a really interesting trip.
There are a host of great speakers, from Chi Onwurah MP to Paul Maltby, Director of Data at the Government Digital Service and Terry Brewer, Procurement Lead for the LGA (amongst others). Based on our previous experience at the GovNet events, these are well-attended conferences, with many senior decision makers and a lot of worthwhile contacts. As a Crown Commerical Service Supplier, Be-IT has a major interest in the public sector across the UK and we’ve invested considerably in ensuring a high profile at such events. It has certainly paid off, with an increasing amount of government business on our books and we are confident that this trip will add to this. If it’s as busy as last time, we may not even have time to get to the pubs afterwards! However, we shall take a few photos and I’ll write a brief report about how we got on, which I’ll share here on our blog page early in October.
