Be-IT is working in close collaboration with a leader in exploration geology and geophysics applications for use in oilfields. You will join an established technical support team as a spatial ETL/GeoServer specialist using several technologies including; Spatial and relational ETL skills within SQLserver, Postgres and PostGis: expert knowledge of Safe software FME Desktop and Cloud; working knowledge of GDAL/GeoServer. You will be able to automate spatial dataset loading and cleaning ensuring content remains at a consistently high quality, whilst actively investigating new technologies and testing new technical solutions. You will require strong analytical and problem solving skills and will ideally have a degree in computer science, geoscience, applied mathematics, physics, engineering or similar.
To be successful in this role you will need experience of working on complex products using the latest ETL spatial technologies you will have a proven track record in applications and in and will have worked on Geology or Geophysics applications previously. You will have excellent communications skills and provide routine updates to key stakeholders.
It would be advantageous if you have any knowledge of one or more of the following; ESRI software suite, ArcMap, GeoCat Bridge, Java (JEE/JSE) and a good understanding of OGC specifications and concepts (WMS, WFS,WCS,WPS)
